As an important contributor within a fast-paced company environment, this hands-on position requires a high attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional team of professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial passion for renewable energy development and a desire to work with lenders, customers, contractors, and many other external parties. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Associate Counsel will assist in delivering first class legal support to the various teams. The ability to work both independently and provide team leadership and mentorship are critical, as well as the desire and innovative mind set to operate as an important contributor to our dynamic team. Primary Responsibilities 
• Structure and negotiate equipment supply, EPC, O&M, lease, power purchase, performance guarantee and warranty agreements with commercial customers for solar, energy storage and solar + storage projects 
• Provide a first level review of various contracts, agreements and other legal documents, preparing redline comments to review with General Counsel 
• Review and negotiate nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements with vendors and business partners, elevating complicated issues to the General Counsel 
• Work with the General Counsel to ensure quality, clarity and consistency across all legal documentation 
Basic Qualifications 
• Location: Tallahassee Florida with some travel required
• Juris Doctor 
• A current license to practice in one or more US jurisdictions 
• A minimum of 5 years in-house experience, focusing on Project Finance, commercial real estate and commercial lending, preferably in the energy industry
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts 
• A team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, make complex cost/benefit assessments, and identify pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions 
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively and to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environment 
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization 
• Excellent negotiation and communications skills
