Overview & Purpose: Miami-Dade FAWL is a professional organization that is devoted to actively promoting the advancement of women in the legal profession. The membership of Miami-Dade FAWL comprises a diverse group of men and women who pursue the common goal of promoting women's opportunities and rights. Our members include lawyers, judges, and members of the business community. Your continued membership in Miami-Dade FAWL provides you with opportunities for business referrals, access to resources for substantive legal and practical advice, and the possibility of attaining leadership positions and visibility in our vibrant legal and business community. We anticipate an eventful and enjoyable year for Miami-Dade FAWL. In 2009-2010, the Miami-Dade Chapter will host multiple events, including CLE programs, a fundraiser, a Judicial and Scholarship Reception, and a Women’s History Month Celebration. our annual Women's History Month Event in March 2009, and other events which will provide opportunities for professional development and networking. Accordingly, we look forward to your continued participation, as our mission could not be accomplished without your support. Let us work together for another year to fulfill our goal and our vision of promoting women in the legal profession.

Lunch and Learn CLE Ethics Seminar with Jan L. Jacobowitz - Please join us on Thursday, February 25, 2010 for a luncheon and a fascinating CLE seminar sponsored by Cynthia Barnett Hibnick, Esq. and presented by Jan L. Jacobowitz, Program Director of UM's Center for Ethics & Public Service. Ms. Jacobowitz has previously presented Ethics CLE seminars on a wide range of issues to audiences who main practice areas vary from bankruptcy and commercial litigation to real estate and immigration law. Legal Services of Greater Miami & MDFAWL Host Heart of Giving Event - Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., GSCBWLA, CABA, WDFJBA, MDFAWL and HLA will host "The Heart of Giving" celebration event to benefit the "Together, We Must" Campaign for Justice on Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The distinguished guest speakers will be Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Peggy A. Quince, and Senior Political Reporter, Michael Putney. Admission is $75.00 per person ($40.00 is tax-deductible) and includes a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception.
